23rd March 2026 - Updates

 

BrightPay Cloud 2026-27 is now available 

Legislation changes for 2026-27 to include: (New Payroll Tax Card available here)

  • Updated Scottish Income Tax rates for 2026/27 (no changes for England, Wales or Northern Ireland)
  • Updated National Insurance thresholds, including the Lower Earnings Limit
  • Updated Student Loan thresholds, with support for the new Plan 5
  • Updated Statutory Pay rates, including Statutory Sick Pay and Parenting Pay
  • New Statutory Sick Pay calculations, removal of waiting days and removal of the Lower Earnings Limit
  • Updated Company Car and Fuel Benefit rates
  • Updated National Minimum Wage rates from April 2026
  • Added support for Parental Bereavement Pay (Northern Ireland), ensuring compliance with new reporting requirements
  • Minor Feature Parity Items

 

18th March 2026 - Updates

  • Departmental User access for an employer on the Client Portal
  • Employee can be marked as confidential for the Manager and Client Portal

 

13th March 2026 - Updates

  • A Team Member on the Organisation can access employers on the Client Portal by default
  • Custom Bank Payment File templates created for Desktop can be imported into BrightPay Cloud
  • Coding Notices improvements

  • The option to send a notification email to an employee to advise a resource is available for the employee to view on their EESSP
  • An activity log to view when a resource is created and by who, if email notifications were sent and if the resource was viewed by an employee and when.

29th April 2025 - Updates:

  • Filtering employees 
  • Period timeline navigation
  • Validation/flagging for employees on class B (or similar) who are born after 5 April 1961.

 

16th April 2025 - Updates:

  • Departmental Manager option for employees in a department
  • Option for Managers to add leave and cancel leave
  • The Calendar report and Annual Leave entitlement report available on the Client Portal

 

 4th April 2025 - Updates:

  • Supports recording an employee's workplace postcode and reporting it on FPS (which may be required where an employee works in an NI Freeport or Investment Zone that is at a different location from the employer's registered address).
  • Supports FPS 'Pension commencement excess lump sum indicator' and 'Stand alone lump sum indicator'.
  • Updates Cushon pension contributions CSV file format.

 

20th March 2025 - Updates:

  • Option for Two Factor Authentication for Employees
  • Increases the Employee Numbers limit to 300 (including leavers)
  • Resources option for Employees
